Ormazd Vessel Sinks November 05th, 2017 - 10:46:29
When it comes to bathroom décor, choosing a right vessel sink can unbelievably transform the image of your bathroom. Vessel sinks are either made of porcelain, steel or ceramic and are fixed right under the tap in most bathrooms, whether public or private. A vessel sink is almost identical to a kitchen sink with a tap extending over the rim to fill it up. It really becomes hard to overlook a vessel sink while in the bathroom. The type of vessel sink may differ in accordance to the bathroom decor.
The vessel sink that is suitable for space-restrained rooms is the drop-in sink. These under mounted sinks are commonly integrated with vanity cabinets because they are installed directly under the opening of the sink. The drop-in sinks are incorporated with simple counter tops to give space for other bathroom items such as toiletries, bathroom cleaners and miscellaneous accessories. The commonly used materials for these sinks are ceramic, fire-clay, porcelain, and china clay. Though there are models of drop-in sinks that are made of glass or copper, these kinds are not commonly seen in normal houses.
For an above counter installation, you will need a hole that is large enough to accommodate the drain assembly. This is the plumbing hardware that allows the sink to drain the water. If the bottom of your vessel is flat, then the installation is straightforward. The only thing we would recommend is a bead of silicone under the sink and around the edge to prevent water on the countertop from working its way underneath the vessel. If the vessel has a rounded shape - as with most glass vessel sinks - you have two options. You can either use a vessel mounting ring (sometimes these are provided with the sink) or you will need to provide a mounting hole directly in the countertop.
The wall-mounted vessel sink is mostly used for houses with a small bathroom. This vessel sink does not need any floor support which properly fits in a small space. The water supply and drain of this vessel sink are visible directly underneath the sink. This vessel sink is the most commonly used model as it is simple, economical and has easy installation procedures. The material used in making wall-mounted sinks may be selected from porcelain, ceramic, or china clay.
