Sabourin Vessel Sinks November 05th, 2017 - 10:01:21
So I finally did it. I bought my own house and when I brought in my contractor to change up the place the way that I like it I had decided that I wanted something different for the bathroom and kitchen. I wanted something that would give them a sense of style and class and he had made a few suggestions to me. One of his suggestions was to replace the sinks with some better ones. He had some bathroom vessel sinks in his van that he was going to install later at a different site and showed one to me. When I saw it I then knew what I was missing in my new house and immediately placed an order to have them installed. I then looked for some vessel sink faucets to complement its overall look.
I had bought a new house a few weeks ago and it inadvertently led me to discover vessel sinks. These sinks are some of the finest crafted sinks that I have ever laid my eyes upon. I was looking for a certain style to brighten up my kitchen and bathrooms and when I discovered vessel sinks I was convinced that I would not ever look for a different type of sink again. What I didnt know is how important vessel sink faucets are!
For practical use, you want the rim of the vessel sink to go up at least six inches to prevent too much splashing, and the bowl part of the vessel should be at least 15 inches wide. There are also vessel sinks that are square, and are set more deeply into the vanities, which makes them feel a bit more like standard sinks and may make some users more comfortable with them. Finally, do not install the faucet for the sink too high, or you will get water splashing over the vessel, on to the vanity and then on to the floor. Thats a little bit more of a fountain effect than any of us wanted, I think.
Most vanities are 30 to 36 inches wide. Some double units are 60 inches across. Check out Signature Hardware (lots of rustic looks, good for country houses) and Home Decorators Collection (23 choices, more modern looking... suitable for a city apartment). Lowes has a good selection too, and you should take a trip there or to some other local retailer before you buy one of these sinks online... it is always best to "meet" an item like this in person before you buy it. Elegant and chic, vessel sink vanities and faucets are becoming popular with homeowners who want to add an artistic quality to their bathroom design. It is a sink that rests on a countertop or on top of a piece of furniture. This article is not just going to tell you about all of the different kinds of vessel sinks but it will tell you how to install them as well.
